Cope Family Center recently wrapped up their 10 week parenting class entitled Make Parenting a Pleasure (MPAP). Parents met once a week to gain knowledge and skills ranging from positive discipline to parents being able to make time for themselves. The class had parents interact with one another, sharing experiences with what has worked for them with their children. Parents from all walks of life and ethnicities participated in this class. The facilitator doesn’t claim to be an expert and knows that certain practices may work for some and not for others. The class allows parents to explore what techniques work for them. I had an opportunity to attend two of the classes, and felt that it was an excellent place to gain knowledge and insight in raising my own child.
